Amanda believes that the world is in desperate need of humans who know how to talk to trees, who read and tell stories, and who express their feelings in songs and colors and words. She is passionate about giving families the tools they need to create places where humans like that can thrive. She will stand with you at the threshold while you welcome your brand new little one earthside. She will be with you in your home to ease the stretching that adding a baby to your family will cause. And, because babies continue to keep us on our toes when they become children, she can provide insight and assistance during the school years about alternative methods of education. You might need help with your family, but Amanda will be there for you, first and foremost, because there is nothing more life changing, earth shaking, ground breaking than being responsible for another human. She will be at your side to help you find your own wisdom, strength, and courage so that you and your whole family can thrive. Amanda is a founding member of Life Circle Birth

Amanda spent her college years in the School of Life, hasn’t graduated, and doesn’t ever intend to. She got married at 18, had her fifth child when she was 26, then moved out and on to begin a new adventure of being a single mom. She is a passionate advocate of play based outdoor learning and has been studying childhood development ever since her first was born. But she has learned the most about how children thrive by observing and talking to the children themselves. She had already attended several births, including two of her siblings’, before she became a doula and has been surrounded by babies and children her whole life. She keeps her own inner child alive by climbing trees and building forts and splashing in the ocean and reading adventure stories. She will interrupt a conversation to find out what bird she heard and her favorite animal is the narwhal because unicorns do exist!

The world is so alive with mystery and wonder and she wants more than anything for humans to experience it in a way that they will carry with them in their hearts forever.
